I think I speak for all of us when I say how much of a total mistake it is for H&M not to offer online shopping to all of us in Ireland.
I logged on today to see if I could locate anything interesting for myself for New Years Eve, but alas, the Versace I was lusting over had a big 'Online shopping not available in your area' sign on it. Thanks guys. There was no way I could get to the store in time to snag a piece of the collection, so I am quite irritated that I've missed it - although from the giant crash that happened the day of the launch - I am glad that I didn't wait up!!!!!!
Did anyone snag a piece or three?
According to my friends who were there - the accessories and leather pieces were the first to go. London reported that the leather pieces sold out first and New York (who recieved the collection a day later) reported that people queued for 22 hours!!!!
In London, the first person started queuing at 4.30am to stake her claim on a few Versace pieces and remained in the queue until it opened at 9.15. Donatella turned up at 8.30 to open the store and some shoppers were in line for 15 hours - dear lord!
So what about our own fair city?
Dublin reports that people started to queue at 12 the night before. There have been complaints that not every piece reached us and people were not impressed! Apparently there were issues with sizes in the footwear in Dundrum with shoppers complaining that there were only one size in each! Also complaints circulated about the store advertising items they were not stocking. There were 20 shoppers allowed in per viewing and they were allowed 10 minutes each to pick up their choices.
There was also a report in the Herald about a difference in price between Belfast and Dublin with differences starting at 38cent and ranging up to €65. Can anyone confirm this?
