But of a truth, we all need a break from the unrelenting barrage of bad news and dire predictions. (Most of them are false, by the way. The predictions, that is.)
So while the heat rages across much of the Lower 48, and rain and flooding across the rest, here's something different.
Our lows have been in the upper 30s, and daily highs in the upper 40s to low 50s, for several weeks. Leaves began falling about a month ago. Accu-Hunch Weatherguess predicts widespread frost tonight.
So here's something with which you might clear your eyes, in answer to the question, "Reverend Paul, what does mid-September look like your part of Alaska?" I took these on the way home from the store, about 30 minutes ago. It's currently 43°, if that helps.
