It is located at a pretty obvious location, as I spooted it at the far end when I turned my head left, right from the escalator as I ascended Level 1 of 313 Somerset.
Besides it is an Italian Restaurant, and on the right, before you reach it, you will walk pass a Thai Restaurant. Both didn't look like Must-Trys to me (the Italian looks worth it if you want a proper meal.) Only Marvelous Cream really stood out. So I thought, I just have to try that!
Matcha Green Tea Shortcake $6.90The outlet is small, with only about 6 seats. Youngsters make up the majority of the crowd that sat inside, and bother to step in and take a look.
Luckily, the things sold there can be easily taken away, and eaten as you walk. I'd so love to sit down and enjoy my parfait though!
The Looks
I don't think anyone will disagree that my Matcha Green Tea Shortcake looks unappealing. I am quite proud of myself for taking a pic that makes the food looks advertisement-perfect! hahaha. okok, I can be very thick-skinned at times.
The Taste
I totally, totally love Matcha Green Tea flavour. It's my latest flavour craze. I have Matcha Green Tea flavoured Pocky from Beijing, and it's great. Then I have Green Tea tiny cakes from Beijing too. And I tried Matcha soya bean drink from Jollibean as well. Gosh, I still remember the last time I developed a flavour craze, it was for Strawberry Cheesecake. I still *heart* strawberry cheesecake to the max now.
Yup, so anyway, it's obvious that I enjoyed the parfait. Please don't order Matcha Green Tea if you don't like it. I know there are people who shun green tea flavourings and will choose chocolate anytime.
Price-worthiness??
Honestly, not. This parfait thing is not something that you absolutely must eat. And even if you ate it, it need not be Marvelous Cream brand.
There are a dozen outlets out there, like Baskin Robbins, Gelare and stuff that sell the exact same thing with the exact same taste. (As a matter of fact, I recently ordered 2 scoops ice cream in the exact same waffle bowl from Baskin Robbins in Beijing. It's the same. BR has excellent coffee ice cream though.)
Seriously, how different can waffle taste?? And how different can a mixture of chocolate ice cream, or vanilla with mango or whatever taste??
Nice is nice, because I love ice cream. But more like the step-in-try-something, once-and-that's-it sort of shop.

I don't recommend that you waste your money there. Invest in a real meal that fills your tummy at Quiznos Sub - in my next blog post. =)
